These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tavernus PDF Editor platform, including all associated tools, features, APIs, and services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Tavernus Game LLC ("Tavernus," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, subscribing to a plan, or using any feature of the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Subscription & Refund Policy. These documents collectively form the agreement between you and Tavernus.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Account Registration

Certain features of the Service require account registration. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials.
• Promptly notify Tavernus of any unauthorized access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for fraudulent or illegal purposes.

4. Service Description

Tavernus PDF Editor is a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that enables users to edit, merge, split, sign, fill, convert, compress, watermark, and redact PDF documents directly in a web browser. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with Free, Pro, and Enterprise tiers.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We strive for 99.9% uptime as outlined in our SLA for Enterprise customers, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation for all tiers.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

5.1 Free Plan

The Free plan provides limited access to core editing features at no charge. No credit card is required. Free plan availability and feature limits may be modified at any time with 30 days' notice.

5.2 Paid Plans (Pro & Enterprise)

• Paid plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your selection at checkout.
• Subscription fees are charged in advance at the beginning of each billing cycle.
• Prices are listed in US Dollars (USD) and are exclusive of applicable taxes.
• We use Stripe, Inc. as our payment processor. Your payment information is handled securely under PCI DSS Level 1 standards.

5.3 Automatic Renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard.

5.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to adjust pricing for paid plans. Any price increase will be communicated via email at least 30 days in advance and will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

6. Refunds

Our refund policy is described in detail in our Subscription & Refund Policy. In summary:

• All new paid subscriptions include a 7-day money-back guarantee.
• Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the initial charge.
• Renewal charges are non-refundable.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload, process, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or infringing on third-party rights.
• Attempt to compromise the security, availability, or integrity of the Service or other users' data.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to access the Service without our prior written consent.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without a valid Enterprise or OEM agreement.
• Upload documents containing malware, viruses, or other malicious code.

Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension or termination without notice.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our IP

The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, trademarks, and documentation, is the exclusive property of Tavernus Game LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in the Service.

8.2 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to documents and content you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant Tavernus a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. This license terminates when your content is deleted from our servers (within 60 minutes of processing).

9. Document Processing & Privacy

Tavernus processes your documents in compliance with our Privacy Policy. Key commitments include:

• All documents are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).
• Documents are permanently deleted from our servers within 60 minutes of processing.
• We do not access, analyze, index, or share the content of your documents.
• Our infrastructure is SOC 2 Type II certified.

10. API Terms (Enterprise)

Enterprise customers with API access are subject to the following additional terms:

• API usage is limited to the rate limits specified in your Enterprise agreement (default: 10,000 calls per month).
• API keys are confidential and must not be shared or exposed in client-side code.
• Abuse of API rate limits may result in temporary or permanent suspension of API access.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tavernus Game LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Tavernus in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tavernus Game LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

• By You: You may cancel your subscription and close your account at any time through your account dashboard.
• By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Any data associated with your account will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policies outlined in the Privacy Policy.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in King County, Washington.

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights or enforce confidentiality obligations.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email and update the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance.
